EVOLUTION OF NAME BHADERWAH

The name Bhaderwah or Bhaderkashi is derived from Bhaderkali

(It is belived that goddess Bhaderkali inhibited the vally first and

the word Bhaderkashi was derived from her name Bhaderkali.)

Bhaderkali was the sister of naga Lords viz. Subar Nag, Vcient name of this locality was Chintan a Sanskrit word means selfintrosepction but with the passage of time the world depraved to Chinta. From Bhaderwah the road passes through villages and forests depicting social and cultural heritage akin to the neighbouring state ofasuki

Nag. Now Bhaderkashi is called Bhaderwah

ANGELLIC VALLEY OF CHINTA(BHADERWAH):

A small  picturesque valley perched securely amidst the surrounding hills to north east 18  kms is called Chinta. The an Himachal Pardesh.  Bhaderwah.

BHADERWAH:ADOBE OF SABAAR NAG AND VASUKI NAG:

If we scan the pages of ancient history we know that Bhadravakasa was the

original name of present Bhadarwah. The aborigines of this hill territory has their

lineage from Nagas of Northern India, and thus Naga cult is the dominant creed of

locality and Vasuki being patron divinity was the first Raja of Bhadarwah.

Bhaderwah is happy region and nothing like it exist for those live among mountains in heaven and earth” This gist about Bhaderwah in one of the Shaloka in ‘Vasuki Puran’.

Perched securely among the mountains at an average height of about 5000ft above sea level the valley of Bhaderwah is approximately 6km length and 4Km breadth .

Bhaderwah is situated north east of Jammu at a distance of about 200Km . It is bounded by Chamba State of Himachal Pradesh in SouthEast. In the north and west of Bhaderwah the Districts of Kisthwar and Doda are placed respectively .

The valley of Bhaderwah derived its name from the godess Bhaderkali to Bhaderkashi which with passage of time depraved to Bhaderwah.

Ancient history of thr Valley is based on legends, Local annals and religious structures.

As per legend Naga cult was the dominant creed of the people and Basak Nag (Vasuki Nag) was the first King of The Bhaderwah.

The Catchment area of Bhaderwah includes present Tehsils of Bhalessa,Thathri area of Barsue, Kellar and Trown. It is criss-crossed by hillocks and forests of deodar, Chir and Fur trees . while descending the mountains and hillocks after forests small and bid villages with terrace of cultivable land are seen and the plain are thickly populated.

This valley provides varied venues for tourists . pilgrims and adventure.

The two scared place of Kailash Kund an Son Bain (Golden Tank are at a height of 1000ft and 8000 ft above the sea Level at a distance of 13Km and 8Km to the South and South East respectively. Both the places are religiously connected with the ancient history.

Besides there are other scenic spots like,Swej Dhar,Khani Top,Jai,Fuklandhar and Subardhar and so many others in Bhalassa , Thatri and Kelar area.

The narrow Passage to the western side gives an outer link from Bhaderwah, but recently road links with Himachal Pradesh Chamba to the eastern side and Basoli Pathankote southern side are in progress .For tourists it is indeed a peaceful and resting Place.
